I write lived-in fantasy for people who still hear the wild.
Stories of gritty women with muddied boots and men who aren’t afraid to care. Stories where girls are a true part of the world, not just love interests or side characters. Stories to get lost in, recognise yourself in, and feel less alone on the long road.
Because magic leaves footprints in us, and those marks guide us in real life, too.

I write and draw early in the morning (at stupid o'clock, as my dad says), before the day and all its demands crowd in. I make stories, art, and books around a full life (work, family, responsibility), and I don’t want to pretend that balance is neat or easy. It’s something I fight for (with deeply etched purple shadows under my eyes included) because making things is not optional for me. It’s how I breathe and actually feel like myself.
Meet Sarah Caelan: Fantasy Author
I’m raising a small human I love fiercely, and I’m doing my best to pass on curiosity, creativity, and grit rather than vague, pretty words about following dreams, but no guidance on how to actually make that happen. I want him to know how to dust off his knees and keep going.
My stories are rooted in the wilds: dark forests, long roads, weathered people, and the quiet hope of warmth at the end of the day. I’m drawn to characters with grit and tenderness in equal measure. Women with muddied boots, who endure and act. Men who aren't afraid to show they care. People who are allowed to be whole. Real. Because, in my head, the people are always the heart of the story.
